What uses AI, and what it costs
Which features need AI, how many requests each one makes, and how to keep your bill low.

RolePort charges nothing. With a hosted provider, you pay it directly for what you use. A local model costs nothing but your computer's time.
How many requests each feature makes
Providers charge by the amount of text sent and received, so each request's cost depends on the model you pick and the length of your CV and the posting. Check your provider's pricing page for current rates.
| Feature | AI requests | Amount of text |
|---|---|---|
| Import a CV | 1 per import | Your CV |
| Paste a job as text | 1 per job | The posting |
| Evaluate a job | 1 per job | Your profile and the posting |
| Analyze several jobs | 1 per job, up to 10 | Your profile and each posting |
| Tailor a CV | 1 per run | Your profile, CV and the posting |
| Cover letter | 1 per draft | Your profile, CV and the posting |
| Prepare all | 2 (CV and letter) | As above |
| Application question | 1 per question | Your profile, CV and the posting |
| Email or follow-up | 1 per draft | Your profile, the posting and the application's history |
| Mock interview | The most: a plan, one after each answer, then grading each question and a summary | Grows with the interview's length |
| Interview briefing | 1 | Your profile and the posting |
What needs no AI
Job search, filters, quick match scores, following companies, reading job links with job details on the page, the tracker and pipeline, PDF CVs, the ATS check, reminders, contacts, backups and voice settings.
Keeping costs down
- Use quick match first, and evaluate only the jobs worth a closer look.
- Use a cheaper model for evaluations and a better one for final CVs. You can switch in Settings at any time.
- Run a local model for bulk work.
- Use a Quick drill for interview practice, at 3 questions instead of 6.
- Set a spending limit with your provider, if it offers one.
